Christmas Cookie Exchange

Headed out to a Christmas cookie exchange. Made 16 dozen cookies to take. These are peanut butter oatmeal tarts.

I also made these cute little calendars for each guest. I used coasters (3 1/2" square) and covered the front and back with paper. It was so easy as I cut the paper with the Cricut Artiste cartridge. They fit perfectly. Ordered these cute little calendars. Need to use them up. Used our bonding memories glue to put them on the coasters. That glue is just the best! Used the extra large clips (got them at Staples) for the holder. Little tip - tie the ribbon around the smallest part of the handles, slide the coaster between the two handles and then slide the coaster and the ribbon down to secure the coaster. Can you see that I am using up my stash? that is really old CTMH paper. I still love the mix of black and tan in this paper. Made each one out of different paper.

Then I made this frame for the hostess. Got the idea from another consultant's post. Just changed it up a bit. I covered one of the $1 frames from the craft store. I used the Partridge and Pear paper. I used antique mod podge - It gives it that old look. I cut the Merry Christmas at 3 inches on the red paper and then again on colonial white. Ran them both through the xyron and put one over the other. I just love that the Artiste cartridge has those words like Merry Christmas. I cut the snowflakes and the cuff of the mitten (I cut the entire mitten and just cut off the cuff) with Artiste on the colonial white also. Cut the mittens with last year's Christmas paper. I love that red plaid. I added a little prisma glitter to the snowflakes. I also did a little distressing on all parts with Chocolate ink. I then added a cinnamon heart that I made last week. You mix cinnamon and applesauce and roll it out like dough and bake them. Let me know if you want the details on how to make them. They smell so good.

Here is a little more detail on the mittens. Next time I need to cut one mitten and then turn the paper over so that I get a pair. Can't really see the glitter but the snowflakes have just a little touch of prism glitter. Well, better head out. I hope I have inspired you to make up something good. Please leave a comment about my post. Thanks!!!
